Based on the "Happy Family" house concept, a highly individual detached house was created in Schlattingen, meticulously tailored to the needs of the family of five and its unique location. The property, situated on a moraine hill bordering the forest, offers spaciousness, tranquility, and beautiful views across the surrounding vineyards. These qualities were deliberately incorporated into the design: the sun's path, the views, and the natural light conditions determined the orientation and further development of the house. Thus, step by step, the original house idea evolved into a home with its own distinct character.
The central design element is immediately apparent upon entering: light and openness. Generous windows bring daylight into the rooms from multiple directions and create seamless visual connections to the outside. At the heart of the space is the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, which extends across the gallery all the way to the roof, reaching ceiling heights of up to five meters in some places. Despite this spaciousness, the atmosphere remains warm and inviting. Light wood, oak parquet flooring, dark kitchen cabinets, and the fireplace add deliberate accents, blending clean architectural lines with a comfortable living experience.
The room layout is also consistently geared towards family life. Retreats for the children, an open gallery with a workspace, and flexibly usable rooms create space for different phases of life. An additional room with direct access to the terrace can be used now as a retreat and later, for example, as a hobby room or fitness room. The bedroom and the adjoining bathroom also embrace the concept of openness and light and can be separated from each other as needed.
The connection to the surroundings continues outdoors. Several seating areas allow you to follow the sun throughout the day, while the covered loggia offers a sheltered spot on warm days. From the balcony, and especially from the integrated whirlpool, there are views across the vineyards and the expansive landscape. This home thus combines thoughtful architecture, generous spaces, and nature into a harmonious whole – individually designed for its inhabitants and perfectly tailored to its unique location.
