Project description

A light-filled family dream

Designed as a family home, the property is situated on the edge of an idyllic village. It is surrounded by agricultural land to the south and west, some offering views of Mount Pilatus. It was therefore a natural choice to take advantage of the wonderful location during the planning phase and bring nature indoors through numerous large windows. This proximity to nature, excellent natural light, and generous openness are the striking features of the house.

Those who appreciate a contemporary yet not overly progressive style will find its attractive appearance appealing. The owners themselves also appreciate the practical details, such as the garage roof extending over the front door and the fully covered terrace. This ensures that groceries can be brought inside safely in the rain, and barbecues don't have to be ruined by a sudden downpour. This focus on practicality continues inside the house. For example, the ground floor layout offers flexibility thanks to the versatile additional room, which, together with the adjacent shower room, creates a small, self-contained living area. Equally practical is the storage room next to the open-plan kitchen. Like the entire ground floor, the kitchen is consistently decorated in black and white, with the exception of a few pieces of light-colored natural wood furniture: the large dining table and the wardrobe in the living room. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area allows the owners to entertain many guests without feeling cramped. In keeping with this concept, a freestanding kitchen island has been placed in the center of the room. “In the living and dining area, we feel connected to nature,” the homeowner says happily. “Cows, horses, cats, and dogs can be admired as they roam. Even while cooking.” A natural amphitheater. The pleasantly proportioned entrance hall underscores the spacious character of the house. This continues on the upper floor. A long hallway leads to a total of four rooms: the master bedroom and three additional rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides give the master bedroom an atelier-like feel. From the bed, they have a view of Mount Pilatus and green pastures. Unlike the ground floor, this room is decorated in warm colors. The generously sized bathroom with a bathtub is also accessed from the hallway. The house has a partial basement. The basement contains the utility room and laundry facilities, as well as two additional rooms. “We are delighted with our home every single day,” the family concludes.
