It all started with an advertisement and a plot of land with a construction crew. "We stood on the meadow to see if we could feel at home here," the family explains. It was the last plot of land still available. They immediately liked the location, close to the city of Lucerne, and because they work in the same municipality, the property was practically perfect.

Since the owners desired a adaptable house that they would be happy with in the future and that they could easily live in even in old age, the floor plans were redesigned according to their wishes. Currently, the owners use their home as a single-family dwelling, but it can be converted into a two-family house at a later date, if needed. This would create two 2.5-room apartments from the 3.5-room property. Everything required for this conversion is already in place: various electrical circuits, apartment doors, a staircase, kitchen connections, and much more. Two independent ventilation systems, underfloor heating, and electrical installations have also been installed, allowing the rooms to be used as separate units or reduced in size at any time. Additionally, there is the option of converting the basement into an extra heated room.

For now, the residents are enjoying their light-filled home, with its spacious layout and floor-to-ceiling windows, all to themselves. An open-plan kitchen with a handleless design in timeless white, together with the dining area, forms the heart of family life. The island unit is particularly robust and easy to clean thanks to its white granite countertop. State-of-the-art appliances take care of much of the work. A glance out the window reveals the centerpiece of this building project – the outdoor area with its conservatory. Here, the owners designed and created their dream garden themselves. Upstairs are the private rooms and a bathroom with seamless wall coverings, a walk-in shower, and sand-colored tiles. Solar panels mounted on the porch roof and a geothermal heating system ensure optimal electricity supply and hot water. Nothing stands in the way of years of blissful living.
