The simple form of the house, with its harmonious proportions and clean lines, is further emphasized by the shed roof.
The house offers its residents a well-designed floor plan with a clear division between public space for the family and their guests on the ground floor and individual retreats on the upper floor. The straight staircase, which connects the three floors, serves as an axis around which the rooms are grouped. The concept is openness. The kitchen, dining area, and living room form an open unit, yet are visually separated. The staircase provides the living room with a degree of enclosure without any dividing walls obstructing the flow of traffic and light. The kitchen island separates the dining area from the work surfaces in the kitchen, but does not impede visual contact or communication between cooks and guests.
