Space was limited at the client's previous residence. Therefore, a generous view at his new location was particularly important to him. When he saw the hillside plot overlooking Lake Lucerne in an advertisement, he knew: "This is my home." We adapted the original house design to the client's wishes and the local building regulations.
In the basement, next to the garage, is a room with its own entrance, housing the homeowner's naturopathic practice. The main entrance leads to a hallway, from which a wooden staircase ascends to the upper floors. The ground floor comprises bedrooms and a guest room, an office, a utility room, and a large bathroom. The adjoining conservatory offers stunning views of the lake thanks to its generous, floor-to-ceiling windows. The master bedroom also opens onto a small, enclosed garden – a private haven of nature. The gentle murmur of a nearby stream provides a tranquil soundscape. However, the true strength of the house is revealed upon entering the upper floor. From the central staircase, the space expands in all directions. The kitchen, living, and dining areas flow seamlessly on one level, without any dividing walls. This sense of openness is further enhanced by the continuous parquet flooring. On one side, sliding doors open onto a garden patio, thanks to the steep slope of the land. Opposite, the large windows offer views of the lake and mountains. The natural panorama can be enjoyed even more from the terrace, which wraps around the corner of the house. When furnishing the home, the owner prioritized easy maintenance and high quality, as seen in the walnut parquet flooring and the porcelain stoneware tiles in the bathroom. The owner's long years in the Grisons region have also left their mark on the house, evident in the light wood doors and the rustic wood-paneled ceiling of the attic.
The homeowner is completely satisfied with our work. He especially enjoys the view from the top floor, which is particularly stunning with its colorful sunsets in the summer.
